River Trail

River Trail is an 8-acre community space at the heart of Detroit's Little Village cultural corridor.

About River Trail

River Trail is an 8-acre community space at 9300 Kercheval, on the corner of Kercheval and McClellan.

Pathways weave and intersect across the site, connecting visitors to accessible gathering spaces and public art while linking them to landmarks throughout the corridor. Designed by interdisciplinary studio OSD, River Trail will feature an exhibition of interactive installations alongside a dedicated trail of large-scale public sculpture by Detroit-based artist Robert Sestok.

River Trail provides a unique opportunity to strengthen connections between the corridor’s landmarks — from Pewabic and the Lantern to Cadillac Arts Centre and the Shepherd, eventually extending to the waterfront at Stanton Yards. In this way, River Trail organizes a rich chorus of voices across the corridor into a cohesive network of movement while responding to resident interests in safe and engaging spaces.

River Trail honors the dedication and leadership of residents Delores Orr and Martha Coates, and the East Village Association.
